The Miner's new digital presence

The Missouri Miner couldn't be more excited to announce that the 2018-2019 school year will see a new and improved digital presence for S&T's student news source! The Miner's new website - - gives readers a variety of ways to interact with writers, editors and stories. You can like, share, and comment on news stories, and even browse the blogrolls of your favorite writers. Sign up for a free membership with the site by clicking "Log in" in the upper right-hand corner, and become a part of the Miner News community. From there, you can "follow" your favorite writers so that you never miss a post.

The Miner is also accepting submissions of short opinion pieces. By visiting, guest writers can upload drafts of 500 words or less for consideration in our Op-Ed section. Our editors review submissions and notify writers who will be published. Our digital marketers then promote those articles to ensure that a diversity of voices is heard on our campus. has opened up new possibilities for digital advertising, as well. Advertisers can purchase rotating banner ads that are at the head of each of our news pages, or static page ads that remain embedded on the page of the advertiser's choosing. A link may also be embedded in the ad for increased traffic. For quick processing, upload your ad directly to the website by visiting and click "Submit my Ad."

The Missouri Miner will still be publishing and distributing traditional newspapers across campus each week. But we look forward to using our enhanced digital presence to further engage our readers about issues that are important to our campus community.

As faculty advisor, I couldn’t be more encouraged by the hard work and strategic planning of The Miner’s dynamic staff!
