S&T Miners Baseball Sweeps Two Consecutive Weekends

The S&T Miners Baseball team swept Southwest Baptist March 10-13, and Missouri - St. Louis March 19-20 bringing home a four game series win two times in a row. Here’s what some of the team leaders had to say about their performance:

Michael Hughes, Catcher: “We came together as a team and our brotherhood led us to a great performance for nine straight wins (leading into their Truman series). Everything was clicking at the plate, on the mound, and as a team. We were playing for ourselves!”

Brady Voss, Center Fielder: “It felt great to win eight games in a row, the team was riding high. We were really playing off of each other. There were even some come-from-behind victories, which made it that much sweeter!” Logan Alexander, Right Fielder: “All of the training and time put in during the winter started conforming into wins. The feeling of hard work turning into a reward isn’t easily matched.”

Cade Meier, Pitcher: “It was really good to be back out there after missing a few series to start the year due to recovering from an injury; recouping on the field and starting a win streak like we had going was awesome to be a part of and contribute to. I enjoyed getting back on the mound to where I can throw to Mike, let him call the game, and all I have to do is execute the pitches he puts down.

The Miners played hard, never gave up, and worked as a team to pull out a double series win plus splitting wins with Truman (2-2 series).
